24h Fasting for Dogs

Fasting for our dogs is highly recommended by top holistic vets. It resets the whole body and helps overcome health issues but should be supervised by a Nutritionist or Vet. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach, and individual factors such as the dog’s age, health status, and specific needs should be considered. Fasting for dogs, when done correctly and under the right guidance can offer certain potential benefits:

  • Weight Management
  • Digestive Rest
  • Resetting Appetite
  • Detoxification
  • Blood Sugar Regulation

I don’t support harsh fasting with only water to be served. For me, it’s very cruel. It creates stress and anxiety. It can have a negative impact on their overall well-being and behaviour. It can create a potential for Overeating: If a dog is fasted for a long time and then suddenly given access to food, they may overeat, which can lead to digestive upset, including vomiting and diarrhea. I’ve done a number of fasting with my customers in a very gentle way and always introduce the food again in smaller portions so the digestive system can start slowly and easily.
